Drum lessons
I teach drums one to one on a full standard kit at my home in Holme on Spalding Moor, near Market Weighton. Lessons cost £30 for an hour or £15 for half an hour, and you get a free pair of drumsticks at your third lesson. You don't need a kit of your own to start.
How I teach drums
Drums follow the same method as my guitar lessons. You work through exercises and short sections of real songs, each one there because of what it teaches you. The beats build on each other, and the technique comes with them.
There are no grades and no exams. The aim is that you can sit down at a kit and play the music you like.
Who comes for drum lessons
- Complete beginners, which is most people.
- Intermediate drummers.
- Children of any age. I ask a parent to stay in the room for younger pupils.
- Adults, at any level.
I also play guitar, and teach it. Some people come for both. See guitar lessons and prices.
